On Friday, June 26, the Supreme Court declared same-sex marriage legal in all 50 states.
There were parties all over Washington, DC. to celebrate the occasion and the usual Friday night partiers filled bars and nightclubs in an augmented celebratory mood.
Before the ruling, Caz and I had already planned to attend Soundclash, a sometimes monthly, sometimes quarterly Jamaican music dance night at Cafe Saint Ex, in Mount Pleasant. Afterward on the way home, around 2 o’clock in the morning, we drove by the White House and saw that rainbow colored lights had been projected onto it and decided to take in the sight along with thousands of other people who had gathered there.
Among the people, sitting on Pennsylvania avenue, was this acoustic guitarist, singing late into the night.
